Jef Sabalski, born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, attended and graduated from Hussian School of Art and since 1991 has been creating his own version of gargoyles called “Grargoylez”. Bored with the standard, weathered reproductions of classic originals, Jef set out for a new look on gargoyles. Instead of stiff, cold stone, Grargoylez are warm, bright eyed and living.
Each piece is hand made out of air dried clay and hand painted. No molding here! All are one of a kinds, signed and numbered. Currently these are interior pieces, though there are concrete pieces and more recently, the working in jewelery. Custom works are available but due to each being made individually, there is a waiting period.
